The NYC smart home integrator for people done with app chaos.
Five apps for one apartment. A doorbell that uploads to a server you don't control. That is the app chaos smart home owners across New York know too well. RyzaLab unifies it with Home Assistant: local control, your code, your keys. Brownstones, rentals, multi-unit, and small spaces across all five boroughs.
WHO WE HELP IN NEW YORK
Built for how New York actually lives
Brownstone owners
Brownstone smart home design across Brooklyn and every borough. Thick masonry walls kill WiFi and break cheap mesh kits. We design local-first systems with the right radios (Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread) so coverage reaches the garden floor to the roof, with no cloud dependency.
Apartment renters
This is where RyzaLab started: a New York City apartment where nothing could be drilled or rewired. Smart bulbs, plugs, sensors, and portable hubs leave no trace and move with you when your lease ends. Renter-portable by design.
Landlords and multi-unit
Turnkey, repeatable smart home builds across units, plus ongoing maintenance so every apartment stays reliable without a super on call. One documented standard, version-controlled, easy to hand to the next tenant.
Small businesses
Storefronts, studios, and offices that want lighting, climate, access, and monitoring on one local system, without a per-door SaaS bill. Condo smart home automation NYC and light-commercial setups welcome.
Your home should work for you. Not report on you.

HOW RYZALAB WORKS
Four steps to a home that runs itself
Step 1: Consultation
We walk your space (in person across the five boroughs, or by video), map every device, and listen to what bugs you. You leave with a clear picture of what's possible. No sales pitch.
Step 2: Custom Design
Your system is designed around your routines and your building: pre-war walls, co-op rules, rental constraints. Every automation has a reason. Nothing is added "just because."
Step 3: Installation
We configure Home Assistant, integrate your devices, and test every automation until it works without thinking about it.
Step 4: Ownership
You get the keys: your Home Assistant instance, your GitHub repo, your documentation. No lock-in. No subscription for the core system. It's yours.

Book Your BlueprintWHO IS BEHIND RYZALAB
Started in a New York apartment
15 years inside corporate data systems. I saw exactly how the business model works: your data, their revenue, your problem.
RyzaLab began in a New York City rental where nothing could be permanently modified. The whole system had to be local, portable, and fully owned. That constraint became the philosophy: local control, no monthly fees, no corporate ears in the kitchen.
Our house is the living lab. Nacho the toddler is the stress test. If he can figure it out, it's simple enough for anyone.

FAQ
Common questions
Do you serve all of NYC?
Yes. RyzaLab works across all five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. In-person assessments cover the city, and remote support via the DIY Partner service works anywhere. Tell us your building and we will recommend the right approach.
I'm renting: can I still do this?
Yes, and this is where RyzaLab started. The original system was built in a New York City apartment where nothing could be permanently modified. Smart bulbs, plugs, sensors, and portable hubs require zero wiring and leave no trace. When you move, the whole system moves with you. Rental installs often have the highest return on investment because the setup cost is low and the daily quality-of-life improvement is immediate.
My brownstone has terrible WiFi through the walls. Can you fix that?
This is one of the most common NYC problems. Thick pre-war and masonry walls block consumer WiFi and break cheap mesh kits. We design with the right local radios (Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread) and proper network placement so coverage is reliable from the garden floor to the roof, without depending on the cloud.
I'm in a co-op or condo with board rules. Does that matter?
Often not much. Most of what we install is wireless and non-invasive, so it rarely triggers board approval the way wiring or construction does. We design around your building's rules and flag anything that needs sign-off before we touch it.
Why Home Assistant?
It's open source, runs locally, and supports 2,000+ integrations. No monthly fees, no cloud dependency, no company listening in. You own it.
Do I need an electrician?
Smart bulbs, plugs, and most sensors are plug-and-play with no electrician needed, which is ideal for rentals. For smart switches it depends on your wiring. For any work that crosses that line, we tell you clearly, help you coordinate a licensed electrician, and make sure they have everything they need to do it right.
No app. No voice command. The house just knows.
